The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the pricier Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. As with other top iRobot models (including the top pick), they use smart mapping technology to create precise floor plans and eliminate common obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also have a feature called Carpet Boost that boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.
Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors They're also particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. However, they do have several flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology, so it's prone to become entangled in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tight spaces very well in our tests.
